BoatSpeed is a GPS speedometer developed by Itomic Digital Pty Ltd. No account is required.
Location data
The app uses precise location during its active location session to display speed, heading, altitude and GPS accuracy. GPS readings are processed in memory, not stored as a route history or sent to Itomic or analytics services. Location access stops when the operating system stops that session. Change or withdraw permission in your device settings; GPS features will then be unavailable.
Local information, diagnostics and configuration
Display preferences are stored locally. Google Firebase Crashlytics receives installation/device information, app/OS versions, crash traces and technical state to diagnose faults. Remote Config retrieves operational settings and processes the installation/network information needed to supply them. We do not intentionally attach precise location, feedback or screenshots to crash reports. Optional usage analytics and Performance Monitoring are disabled in the inspected production configuration.
Advertising and purchases
The free version uses Google AdMob. Where required, Google's consent form precedes ad requests and Settings provides Privacy choices. Google may process device/advertising identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics and approximate IP-derived location. Premium can remove advertising. GPS readings are not deliberately supplied to ads.
Google Play or Apple processes subscriptions and supplies product/entitlement information. Itomic does not receive payment-card details. See the provider policies for Google/Firebase and Apple.
Feedback
Production feedback opens your email application; it is sent only if you send the email. We receive your address, message and chosen attachments to handle your request. Development-test builds can use Firebase App Distribution tester feedback instead. The production app does not upload feedback text or screenshots to Firebase Storage.
Retention, security and choices
Remove local preferences by clearing app data or uninstalling. This does not cancel a subscription or delete provider-held diagnostics, advertising records or support emails. Those records have separate provider/operational retention; contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or clarification of what remains. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.
Network services use HTTPS and their platform access controls. No system is completely secure. BoatSpeed is not directed to children; contact us if a child has supplied personal information through support.
