Speed/Limit is provided by Itomic Digital Pty Ltd. This policy covers the app, including optional accounts and contributions. Contact [email protected] about privacy or account deletion.
Location and road information
The app uses precise location to calculate speed and find nearby roads and places. Location access can continue during an active driving session when background permission is granted. You can withdraw permission in your device settings; location-dependent features will then stop working.
Coordinates and network information, including your IP address, are sent to road and place lookup services using OpenStreetMap data, including Overpass and Nominatim. Location is therefore not processed exclusively on your phone. We do not provide a cloud travel-history feature. Submitted road corrections can include coordinates.
Accounts and contributions
Core speed monitoring does not require an account. Optional sign-in uses Firebase Authentication and your selected sign-in provider. Firebase/Firestore stores account identifiers, sign-in details such as email, display names, synced settings and road-correction/leaderboard records. Contributions support shared road information; current contributions go to Itomic's backend, not directly to your own OpenStreetMap account.
Diagnostics, advertising and purchases
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics process usage events, installation/device information, crashes and technical context to maintain and improve the app. These records must not be treated as necessarily anonymous. Diagnostic context varies between releases.
Some older releases use Google AdMob. Where enabled, Google processes advertising/device identifiers, IP-derived location and ad interactions, subject to the applicable consent and privacy choices. Newer builds may disable advertising; this does not change older installations.
Apple or Google processes purchases and provides entitlement information. Itomic does not receive payment-card details. Providers have their own privacy policies, including Google/Firebase, Apple and OpenStreetMap.
Account deletion and retention
Use Delete Account in the app to remove Firebase sign-in, synced settings and the username reservation. Past correction records are retained separately; deleting an account must not be assumed to erase their identifiers or coordinates. If you cannot use the app, email support with the subject Speed/Limit account deletion from your registered address. Do not send your password.
Uninstalling removes local app data, not hosted account records or a store subscription. Contact support to request access, correction or erasure of retained records. Support correspondence and provider diagnostics also require separate handling; we will explain any applicable retention when responding.
Security and changes
The app uses HTTPS connections and Firebase authentication/access controls. No system is completely secure. We update this policy when data handling changes; contact support with questions or concerns, including information supplied by a child.
